InDividual Leaders
We help a leader advance in her/his leadership journey, accelerating personal development to maximize individual success and organizational contribution. This occurs in two primary ways: executive coaching and executive advisory.
We provide executive coaching to enable a leader to bring her/his best each day and achieve her/his leadership vision. One's model for "how I lead" is often sub-conscious. It can both help and hurt a leader in realizing her/his aspirations in an organizational context. Bringing this model to light provides the foundation for a leader to chart a path forward. The coaching process involves self-reflection, a prioritized plan for action, and supported experimentation on behaviors and approaches for different outcomes. A 360 diagnostic and other assessments may be incorporated. We focus on the Vice President level and above. While the coaching typically occurs in a 1:1 format, we also design and lead cohort-based coaching experiences for small peer groups of leaders.
In our executive advisory work with senior leaders, we partner 1:1 as a thinking partner to design her/his strategic and organizational agenda and define what it will take to make it a reality. As an objective and confidential sounding board, we help to navigate execution, gauging progress while making course corrections along the way. This often takes the form of whiteboard working sessions focused on tackling timely questions or issues, where options and actions are outlined.
Leadership Teams
We help teams become more effective. We focus on high profile teams that have a particularly influential role in an organization’s success. We seek to enable quality interactions yield powerful decisions, deepen relationships, build trust and promote learning. Ensuring these consistently occur requires collective reflection and aligned individual action. Through facilitated workshops, teams gain objective perspective on today’s performance and how they operate today -- from their own view and in the view of others through a 360 diagnostic. They develop shared clarity on their go-forward team vision and model on why they matter to the organization, what they work on, and how they work together. To put the model in practice, the team defines specific experiments to support new behaviors and reinforce learning, integrating leadership development real time. We typically work with executive teams as well as teams that lead major operating units or functions.
Organizations
At an organizational level, we often work with the CEO and executive team to crystallize the organizational and strategic vision, then translate that into a journey map of organization-led action and communication. We pay particular attention to the cultural elements which need to be present to achieve that vision – what needs to be strengthened, evolved, or introduced. We explore how to reflect these in an employee experience which inspires collective commitment to making the vision a reality. This all comes to life through the design and facilitation of exploration, ideation, and decision sessions with senior leadership.
To inform these choices, we field organizational and cultural diagnostics through an approach that reflects our strong belief in the value of co-creation for sustainable change.
Often, implementation involves the design of integrated, experiential executive development initiatives for organizational leaders to enable them to best engage and guide the organization in the next stage of the journey.
